1. What should I pay attention to when styling my hair in the summer?

Don&#39;t always tie your hair in the same place with a hair tie, because that puts extra strain on it. Even if it is hot: leave your hair open every now and then, <a href="https://www.lofficiel.at/en/beauty/90s-and-y2k-braids">braid it</a> or wear it in a bun. The variety protects the hair. Important: In the blazing sun, metal clips and clasps should be avoided! They heat up quickly and can damage the hair.

2. What to do right before or after swimming?

Rinse your hair with fresh water after swimming. If there is no fresh water shower, take a bottle of fresh water with you. Tip: Even before going for a swim moisten the hair with fresh water, then it will not absorb chlorine and co. as much. Before jumping into the water, first, make a stop in the shower. Because if the hair is soaked with tap water, it can hardly absorb harmful chlorine and salt water.

3. Sun protection for the hair - Is it possible?

There is a very clear answer to this: yes. Sun protection is important not only for the skin but also for the hair. 5. How can I care for my hair in the summer?

Sun, sand, salty sea water, and chlorinated pool dry out the mane. Therefore, pay attention to the <a href="https://www.lofficiel.at/en/beauty/ph-value-skin-hair">ingredients</a> of styling products: Because alcohol and sulfates only further dry out the hair. Go for products with rich oils and vitamins A,B5 and biotin. However, seawater can have a very positive effect on oily hair and scalp. It soothes irritations and removes dead skin cells. Another tip that can be followed in everyday life: do not wash with water that is too hot, this dries out even more and makes it look dull (because of the layers of dandruff that have built up). It is best to rinse lukewarm and rinse cold at the end.&nbsp;

6. Are there any products or treatments to protect hair from the sun?

Hair can not get a real sunburn but: Pay attention to the crown of your head! Because the scalp is prone to sunburn. Special sun protection products for hair and skin are a must. With frequent parting and a chic sun hat, you can also protect yourself. There are now a number of sprays for hair with UV protection - this protects the hair from fading and also the keratin structure in the hair. Because if they weaken too much, it can cause hair breakage.

7. What care does hair need after sun exposure?

Our hair consists of horny cells that do not perform any metabolic processes. That means: In the lengths, the hair can not regenerate independently. This makes external help more important. Specifically, it is mainly fat and moisture that must be supplied to the horny cells.

8. Should I use a bathing cap?

Basically, this would be the most effective protection for the hair. Because no matter if chlorine or salt water - both are rather straining. If you swim a lot in the sea, the salt water in your hair dries into small crystals and acts like a cauterizing iron. Therefore, during the day after swimming, thoroughly wash out the salt with fresh water.

9. What do I do with my hair extensions during summer?

Basically, hair extensions withstand chlorine, salt water and other heat stresses. However, if you prefer to have less hair, i.e. less time waiting for it to dry, you can take the extensions out for your vacation.&nbsp;

10. But what if I still want to blow-dry my hair?

Then it would be ideal to follow the 70-30 rule. The hair is very sensitive when wet. If you have broken ends when your hair is air-dried, you can often expect a lot of knots in your hair. Therefore, in some cases, it is recommended to blow-dry the hair about 70% and let the remaining 30% air dry.
