Fendi Spring/Summer 21
The inhabitants of via Solari, the area besieged in pre-Covid times when fashion people from all over the world converged at the Milanese headquarters of Fendi, must have been happy, sending traffic into a tailspin. For the first big physical show of Milan Fashion Week dedicated to Spring-Summer 2021 , there were very few seated in the room and the feeling of intimacy Silvia Venturini Fendi chose to enhance it, creating an airy set, enlivened by delicate white curtains, as if during a family reunion someone had ajar a window to let in a little breeze, watching what happens outside. That sensation of fluctuating lightness can be found on the clothes of the women's and men's collections, often transparent and superimposed, or printed with images that again refer to the theme of the window. The protagonist is the pure white of linen dresses, built with sartorial skill on the figure and finished with embroidery that recall the decorations of the linen of the past. Leather cannot be missing, in the degradé version in tobacco tones of sophisticated manteau robes and as the show progresses, flashes of color from ruby, to blue, to yellow, to orange on the clothes, as in the accessories , where the intertwined high-heel pumps stand out. On the bags front, the Hand in Hand Baguettes parade, two models made in collaboration with high-end craftsmen from Marche (for the model woven with willow threads) and Abruzzo (in bobbin lace, starched in sugar). Even in the casting, the show tells family stories, sending parents, children, brothers and sisters to the stage, such as Edie and Olympia Campbell, Cecilia and Lucas Chancellor, Philippe and Dries Haseldonckx, without forgetting the commitment made last season to represent the different physicality of people. Yes, those who live and work in the area will have rejoiced not to see the trams run aground due to fashionistas in rubbing. All the others have eaten their hands because, realizing that given the times nothing else could be done, they know they have missed a beautiful emotion.
