What rhymes with spring and summer? Cocktail evenings outside! Well, not quite, but one thing is sure: cocktails belong to the warm season like hot tea to winter. Whether on the balcony, at a picnic in the park or in the trendy new bar around the corner - cocktails are the "it girls" among drinks. Often with a fresh or fruity note, they are ideal for an enjoyable drinking experience. Especially among those who like it sweet, cocktails are highly respected.
But what are people drinking these days? Are pina coladas out? And what can you offer guests at a garden party if you're not necessarily a pro when it comes to drinks? We wanted to know and started looking for the <a href="https://www.lofficiel.at/en/tags/trends">trends</a> of the moment...

<h4>Trend Nr. 1: Limoncello Spritz - the trendy alternative to the classic Spritz</h4>
Classics are considered classics for good reason: they have achieved this status because they are exceptionally popular, such as the Aperol Spritz. The light aperitif has real cult status. But if you don't always want to come back to this drink, you should definitely order Limoncello Spritz. It is, so to speak, the modern and hip version of the cult drink. Instead of Aperol, Limoncello is used for it. The fresh, alcoholic mix from Italy has experienced quite a hype, especially in the course of the last year. With its yellowish colour, it creates a real summer mood - even just by looking at it -and has therefore earned itself first place in our cocktail ranking.
It's also easy to make yourself. All you need is high-quality limoncello, prosecco, soda water and fresh lemon slices. This is how it works: First put ice cubes in the glass, fill with about 60 ml Limoncello, add about 100 ml Prosecco and top up with sparkling water. Then, stir gently and garnish with lemon slices and a straw.

<h4>Trend Nr. 2: Cotton Candy Champagne - when it needs to go extra fast and easy&nbsp;</h4>
The question is whether this drink meets the criteria for a cocktail - actually, it doesn't. After all, Cotton Candy <a href="https://www.lofficiel.at/en/travel-gourmet/tour-durch-die-8-schonsten-kellereien-der-champagne-fur-ihren-trip">Champagne</a> is actually just champagne mixed with candyfloss. Nevertheless, it should not be missing on this list of trendy mixed drinks, as it was diligently liked on TikTok around Valentine's Day and has been popular ever since. Simply put pink candyfloss in a glass and fill it up with champagne - voil&agrave;, there you have it, a trendy drink for which once again Gen Z is responsible. We give it a like too, because this combo is perfect for a girls' night out!

<h4>Trend Nr. 3: Strawberry Mimosa - the Mimosa Plus</h4>
Did someone say strawberries? Strawberry Mimosa is another classic reinterpreted. While the 08-15 Mimosa is made by mixing champagne or prosecco with orange juice, the Strawberry Mimosa is made by adding strawberry syrup or puree and fresh strawberries. For one person, pour about 10 ml of strawberry syrup into a Prosecco glass, top up with Prosecco and then add about 30 ml of orange juice. If you like, you can also add small pieces of strawberry into the glass at the beginning with the strawberry syrup or garnish the rim of the glass with a strawberry at the end. This drink can also be prepared with non-alcoholic Prosecco for those who prefer not to drink alcohol or who still have to drive.

<h4>Trend Nr. 4: Blue Lagoon - &bdquo;Sea in a glass&rdquo;&nbsp;</h4>
If we're already talking about mild summer evenings, then of course there also has to be a drink that reminds us of the sea. The Blue Lagoon, a cocktail from <a href="https://www.lofficiel.at/en/travel-gourmet/provence-france-5-intimate-hotel-addresses-to-discover">France</a>, has an intense fresh note and with its significant blue colour it is a real eye-catcher. 40-60 ml vodka, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, 20-30 ml blue Curacao (a liqueur), lemonade and a slice of lemon for aesthetics: that's the formula for this trendy drink. Plus: ice cubes should not be missing, of course.

<h4>Trend Nr. 5: Mocktails are the new Cocktails</h4>
The latest trend is not exactly about a specific cocktail, but about an entire category. Not drinking alcohol is no longer considered boring. More and more people are consciously choosing not to drink. Alcohol-free <a href="https://www.lofficiel.at/en/travel-gourmet/3-reinvented-cocktail-recipes-to-make-this-summer">cocktails</a> - so called Mocktails - are totally in! A Mojito mocktail, for example, can be made in no time at all from lime juice, mineral water, lots of mint, with a little sugar and ice cubes.
