More self-care: 15 things you can do daily

It's all too easy for us to get swept up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, forgetting that we need to pause and take time to be good to ourselves. We're sharing 15 simple ways to practice a bit of self-care every day: from longer hugs to getting up 20 minutes earlier, it's often small but highly effective things that boost our self-care and lift our spirits.

1. Take a salt bath with lavender essential oil. The basis is natural, coarse-grained salt, such as mountain salt. Bathing in salt water promotes blood circulation in the skin and has a beneficial effect on muscle disorders, skin problems, and states of exhaustion. Saltwater firms the connective tissue, old skin cells are removed similar to peeling and the skin is supplied with moisture and valuable minerals. The skin becomes clear and pure and looks rosy and fresh after the bath. The lavender essential oil has a calming, relaxing effect and provides a wonderful scent. 2. Say no to things you really don't want to do. Never say 'yes' when you mean 'no'! Set yourself free from wanting to please others. Drive away the fear of negative consequences and be completely calm: Love and approval from others have nothing to do with saying 'yes'. And above all, don't say 'yes' before anyone has even approached you with a request!

3. Get up 20 minutes earlier and make yourself a delicious breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and a healthy breakfast can even help you lose weight. At night, your body uses almost half of the calories that are converted during the day. Therefore, in the morning, empty energy stores need to be replenished. The perfect breakfast consists of a combination of complex carbohydrates (e.g. oatmeal), protein (e.g. low-fat cottage cheese), vitamins, and healthy fats (e.g. avocado).

4. Do something for someone else. A simple smile or a "Hey, how are you?" can go a long way. Taking someone out for coffee or giving them small gifts brings joy and sustains friendship.

5. Take a day off. A Mental Health Day helps recharge your batteries. A day at home won't solve any underlying problems, but it will ensure you regain more energy and a fresh perspective.

6. Set boundaries with family and colleagues. The ability to know and clearly communicate our boundaries is generally based on a healthy self-esteem. It protects us from wasting valuable time and energy on harmful or unwanted demands from others.

7. Do a nourishing face mask or facial massage at home. Facial masks and massages are the perfect addition to your skincare routine. Depending on the ingredients used, a mask can help clarify, smooth and soothe the skin. It is also possible to boost the skin's regeneration processes with a face mask.

8. Connect with friends - a phone call or a text message with a familiar person is enough to start a good conversation with lots of laughter - release of endorphins included.

What does masturbating and yoga have in common? Take time for yourself!

9. Treat yourself to a manicure and pedicure at home. Well-groomed hands and feet are the names of the game. Gitti's vegan nail polishes are especially gentle, water-based, and packaged in sustainable packaging.

10. Go for a walk or run and be in nature. Even if it's just once around the block. Fresh air and exercise is good for the soul.

11. If you're enrolled in a gym, don't let your membership go to waste. Book your favorite class.

12. Try 20 minutes of yoga at home. Yoga is a technique for the body and soul. Not only can you build muscle, improve your flexibility, and prevent tension, posture problems, and back pain, but you can also relieve stress, calm down inside and recharge your batteries. 13. Explore masturbation. Masturbating is the most normal thing in the world - and the most beautiful secondary thing anyway. This vibrator will work wonders.

14. Turn off your smartphone and/or all notifications while you read a chapter or two of your favorite book or catch up on a show you've been meaning to watch.

15. Give longer hugs. Did you know that the average hug lasts three seconds? To really benefit from the hug, 15 to 20 seconds are needed to release the beneficial "love hormone" oxytocin that we all crave.
